Reids Tramline

Located on Yarra Junction - Noojee Road in Powelltown.

Reids Mill was one of the early sawmills in Powelltown, about 15 km SE from Yarra Junction and 80 km from the city CBD.

The walk starts at the picnic area and we walked the route clockwise.

It was a bit steep at the start but not too bad. This pleasantly easy stroll passed through the mountain ash rainforest with lots of tree ferns.

There was about 1.3 km walk a path alongside the road past the pub and the mill near the end. Enjoyed. It took us about 2 hours with rest and photo stops to complete the circuit.

After reuniting with the car, we did some touristy stuff. 

Noojee Trestle Bridge is only a short drive from Powelltown. It was worth stopping to see the old timber rail bridge.
