Bushrangers Bay and Cape Schanck

Haven't done a walk for a while due to CoVid lockdowns, I feel so unfit and look forward to getting out there. When the lockdown was ended on a late Friday last week, coupled with a fine forecast, I did not hesitate to do the packing and get out.

It was an easy day walk of 8km with cliffs and spectacular ocean views.
Located in Mornington Peninsula NP in South-East of Victoria
Access via M11 to the closest town Rosebud. Then, drive south to Cape Schanck

Start and End: Cape Schanck Car park with toilets.
The track to Bushranger Bay is well marked. Had lunch and a long break at the Bay for two hours or three then walked back via the same track. Took a bit longer on the return due to a few ups and downs.

There're options for a side trip along Main Creek to Bushrangers Bay Car park and to Gunnamatta.

Actual walk: Cape Schanck Car park to Bushrangers Bay.
An alternative start is from Bushrangers Bay Car park (no toilet) on Boneo Road.

Set out again after a late arvo at the car park.  A bit of touristy stuff was the Cape Schanck board walk.

Off the board walk, headed up a small hill to check if phone reception available.

(R) Pulpit Rock with swimmable rock pool/s. Watch out your steps to reduce the damage.

It was worth doing so. Wonderful views paid off. What a day!

Was so lucky with yesterday's weather. Todays is very different. Heavy rain is on and off all day. A lot of thanks to the Bureau of Meteology (BoM). I can see how important their science work is!
